Logan may or may not actually be the biggest cat in the world, but these days he's one of the most popular. More than 22 million people have viewed video of the tubby tabby waddling through the parking lot of the Best Western Silver Fox Inn in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, before throwing himself down at the feet of a visiting guest.
According to the hotel's Facebook page, Logan has become something of a local attraction in New Hampshire, with guests visiting the inn just to meet him. "He's a big kitty and everybody loves Logan. Sometimes people come for a first visit but they've already heard about Logan...the legend grows!" one post explains.
Other photos show Logan lounging belly-up in a leather armchair and sprawled out on the floor acting as a fluffy door stopper.
Of course, many have expressed concern over the giant puss's pulchritude."You need to stop feeding your cat. It's cruel and there is no excuse. You're killing that cat," wrote one Facebook user.
As with humans, the sources of feline obesity aren't always so easy to identify—or to correct. One recent study found that more than 50% of U.S. house cats are overweight or obese. Sometimes the causes are over-feeding and a sedentary lifestyle, while other times glandular conditions or the random chance of genetics may be to blame.
Whatever the status of Logan's health, it's clear that the chubby kitty has become a beloved local icon. Here's hoping he has a long, happy—and healthy!—life ahead of him.
