Dougie is a 15-year-old ginger cat who simply loves to be held (But then again, don't we all?). This account comes from a Facebook post by Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, Dougie's home.
"When he's not being held, Dougie's meow can be heard from galaxies far away," related one Refuge volunteer. Not wanting to deprive Dougie of what made him happiest, but also knowing they still had to get work done around the shelter, the staff needed to think creatively to tackle the situation.
According to the Facebook post:
"We thought creatively and decided a baby bjorn allowed Robert [Weimer] to both hold Dougie and do his job effectively. And, we think it's pretty much the cutest thing we've seen, ever."
Dougie, who had been fighting inflammatory bowel disease, was put up for adoption—and as his Facebook post went viral, he was adopted within a day!
Nothing makes us here at HiHomer.com happier than seeing a sweet senior kitty find a home—but there are still plenty of other Dougies out there looking for loving forever homes. Support your local shelter, and don't forget: Love is ageless!Consider adopting a senior cat today…
